VJ Day 2025 – 80th Anniversary

It is nearly 80 years since the last battles of the Second World War were fought, as Japan surrendered days after the dropping of nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Join us on the Friday 15th August in a celebration, not of victory, but of the cessation of hostilities and commemorate the loss of life.

Following the lead set by our D-day and VE day events, from 6pm we are welcoming a firkin or two of an historic beer, lighting the beacon and finishing with the ever-popular Cheswick Green Ukulele Orchestra – what’s not to like!
