Wythall Park Car Parking Charges
Wythall Park Car Parking Charges – UPDATE
Our car parking charges were due to take effect on 31st March 2025, but unfortunately the parking management company has met a delay in manufacturing the signs.
We have been advised that the new date for the charges will be Tuesday 22 April 2025. Until the new signage is in place, car parking charges will not change.
If you have purchased a Parking Permit, this will be valid from when you receive an email confirmation from Nick Bridgens, Membership Secretary, with your registration number included, until the expiry date, which will also be on the confirmation.
The charge rates, as of 22 April 2025 will be:
-
-
- Up to 4 hours £1.00
- Up to 8 hours £2.00
- Up to 24 hours £4.00
-
(The 50p for 2 hours rate will no longer be available.)
Questions (and hopefully answers!)
Why are chargeable times changing?
The scheme (until 31st March 2025) offers free parking in the evening from 6pm and weekends from 12pm to support the Community Club whose members generate funds for Wythall Community Association. However, this allows non-subscribing members of the public to use the park facilities for free during these times. This change will enable more park users to contribute to the upkeep of Wythall Park.
What happens if I don’t pay for parking?
Smart Parking (the company running the Car Park facilities on behalf of Wythall Community Association) will issue a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).
When will the new car parking prices take effect?
The new regime commences on the 31st March 2025 at 00:00.
Do I have to pay on entry?
No. The parking system does not require vehicle registration within a specified period of time after entry. As long as you purchase a ticket (valid for your entire stay from the original time of entry) prior to leaving the Park, you will not incur a PCN.
If I drop off or collect someone from the park, do I need to pay?
There is a 15-minute grace period. If you enter and exit the Park within 15 minutes, there will be no charge.
I came into the Park, paid for my parking, but then had to nip home for something. Do I need to pay again?
Yes. Each entry and exit is recorded by the system. Exiting closes the paid transaction, so when you return, you will need to pay again.
How do I pay for parking?
You can either pay by cash or card at the car parking machines for up to 24 hours or you can pay for parking using the RingGo app or website.
If you're a member of the Club, Association or a constituent group you can buy an annual permit.
Season Tickets & Car Parking Permits
What if I already have a season ticket?
Existing season tickets will be honoured until their expiry. We cannot notify owners individually, but we can check expiry dates by registration numbers, if requested.
How do I buy a season ticket?
Season tickets are being replaced, although existing tickets will be honoured to expiry.
The new arrangement will allow members of Wythall Community Association and Wythall Community Club to purchase annual car parking permits from as little as £30 per annum. These permits will only be available to subscribing members. These will allow the use of the Car Park for 24 hours a day / 7 days a week until expiry of the permit.
Are permits limited to one per member?
Permits are limited to one per member, except for exceptional circumstances.
Will I get a reminder when my season ticket / car parking permit expires?
You will not get a notification when season tickets purchased under the old arrangements expire (we only have registration number details). Under the new arrangements, we will send a notification of your upcoming car parking permit expiry to the email address we have on file. However, if you fail to renew your permit, there is no grace period and you may incur a PCN, so we advise you to keep your own records.
I’m changing my car. Can I change my registration number on my car parking permit?
Yes. Email parking@wythall-park.org.uk with your name, current permit registration number and new registration number giving at least a week’s notice.
Can membership and car parking permits be bought at the same time?
Members can apply for a car parking permit as part of the new or renewal membership process, either on-line or by using the forms available in the Club House. The annual car parking fee is £36 for WCA-only members, and £30 for Wythall Community Club members.
My membership is not yet due for renewal, but I want to buy a car parking permit. How do I buy one and how much do I pay?
As we want to synchronise car parking permits and membership dates wherever possible, for the first year we will allow members to buy permits for up to 12 months to align with their membership renewal dates. The rates will be £3 per month (or part thereof) for WCA-only members, and £2.50 per month (or part thereof) for Wythall Community Club members.
If I am a blue badge holder, am I exempt from parking charges?
No. Car parking charges still apply for blue badge holders, but you are welcome to buy an annual car parking permit if you are a member.
Community Club Members & Constituent Groups
My guest drove me to the Club, can they get free parking?
Yes, when you sign your guest in you can register their vehicle in the Club House.
Can I avoid having to enter my registration number in the Club every time?
A car parking permit will store your vehicle’s details on the Smart Parking computer systems. Then, when you enter or leave the Park, the ANPR system will flag your vehicle as being exempt without having to enter your registration number every time.
I am a member of a constituent group at the Park (Redhill Archers, Wythall Tennis Club or Wythall Community Association Bowling Club), can I get a discounted rate?
We have agreed annual parking permit rates for those clubs, but applications must come from the membership officer of the relevant constituent club. Please contact your club for details.
I attend a class or group at the Park, do I have to pay?
Yes, car parking charges apply 24/7, and except for those groups who meet in Wythall House during opening times, you will need to pay unless you buy a car parking permit.
Can I leave my car in the car park overnight?
The concessionary (free) rate offered by entering your registration number in the digital devices in Wythall House or Park Hall (where applicable) is valid until midnight on the day of entry. If you wish to leave your vehicle beyond midnight or overnight, you will need to purchase a 24-hour ticket (£4). This will give you a FULL 24 hours from your original time of entry (not ticket purchase) and therefore must be purchased prior to midnight on the day of entry.
I’m a volunteer, can I get free parking?
Volunteers needing a car parking permit should contact the Association or Club Officer in charge of their volunteer work to arrange a permit.
