We’re the award-winning Hollywood Comedy Club – just 8,598 miles from Los Angeles, in the small village of Hollywood, south of Birmingham, England. (LA comics are welcome to perform, if they cover their own travel expenses.)

We cherry pick the best acts into a top quality night of entertainment with an affordable ticket price, and top it all off with a high profile headline act you might recognise from TV or the bigger clubs.

Wythall Village Hall is the home of our regular shows, but we’re also branching out into other parts of the West Midlands, with additional gigs in Tividale and Kings Heath.

How did Hollywood Comedy Club start?

Well, once upon a time, two men from Hollywood in England, both called Mr Taylor (no relation), joined forces with a third Mr Taylor (also no relation), with the aim of creating some of the greatest entertainment the world has ever seen. They succeeded. They are Duran Duran.

But enough about them. Hollywood Comedy Club was the brainchild of local comedian Mat Taylor and resident MC Sean Taylor (no relation), ably assisted by our DJ Dean Taylor (also no relation). This Taylors trio (not Duran Duran) held our first gig at the Coppice School Hall on Friday 27th April 2018, before moving to the Royal British Legion in May 2019, and eventually (once the pandemic was out the way) to our current home at Wythall Village Hall.
