The Society was formed in November 1951 and membership numbers are typically around 15.
We are affiliated to the Midland Counties Photographic Federation [MCPF] and the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain [PAGB].
Members are of varying degrees of expertise in picture taking and computer manipulation skills. New members are welcome and will find that we are a friendly group with a common interest.
Meetings consist of lectures from visiting photographers, competitions, inter club competitions and open evenings.
We have a league and annual competitions for mono and colour prints and digital images, which are judged by independent judges. These are open to all paid up members but are not mandatory. We also have fun competitions when we all judge each other's photos.
Open evenings may encompass anything that members suggest and often include practical sessions or viewing outside exhibition entries.
Some members enter National and International exhibitions, where awards can be won.
Meetings are held in the darts room on Wednesday evenings at 8pm. Visitors are welcome and refreshments are available at the bar.
